Some of Which…
I've had a lot on my mind lately. Some of which I would love to share on here and some of which I just can't. Some of it is exciting yet stressful and some is just unknown to us but known to God. Lauren is rocking it. In fact, we are waiting on a date to have her trach taken out →

Lauren and the CSF leak
One of the doctors called us today and let us know that they are working on a plan for what to do with Lauren's CSF leak. The hard part is that he said this entire CSF leak issue is as complex as her original surgery. To repair or whatever it is they are going to have to do will likely →
Lauren in Recovery
The doctor just came out and said things went well. He said it was one of the most challenging surgeries of this type that he had ever done but that she has a complete soft palate. He said now we just have to wait and pray that everything heals well. He said when you move tissue sometimes →

So the have taken lauren back for surgery. They gave her some "funny" meds to calm her down while we where back there. She was getting really fussy while we where waiting and holding her. The meds helped relax her and us since we also where getting stressed out trying to hold/calm/play etc... with her. The doctor said the surgery should →

A Late Night
So I drove last night to this small town about an hour away. I left around 11:30PM and did not return home until 3AM. All to pick up a 75 gallon aquarium to go in my office. Some of you might laugh, but try being a fish keeper, it can be relaxing. Having them in a room (my office) helps →
As is Life
This is how life roles when you can't get a break in life. The first house we had under contract has fallen through and we lost some money, granted it was not a large amount to most people, but to us it was. We where able to get the rest of our money back, thank God. The more our agent →

So Lauren is going into surgery tomorrow to biopsy a mass in her nasal area to see if it's tumor or just scar tissue from a previous surgery. They are also going to look at the tube in her left ear, downsize her trach, and do some other stuff. Please keep her in your prayers. The tentative plan is to keep →

I want to thank you all for your support and prayer for Lauren, she is now a whole 1 year old and we could not be more amazed with this child God has blessed us with. It has been far from easy as many of you know, but this is the life God has blessed us with and we continue →
Lauren's 1st Birthday is coming soon!
February 27th 2009 seemed a distant dream when I took this picture, such a long time away, and now it's around the corner. Remember they gave Lauren a 10% chance to make it to her first birthday so we are wanting to do something huge. Not for us, but for others, to celebrate Lauren's life. We are going to be having →

Don't Slip
So yeah... board walks in the morning are not fun in the cold. This morning I slipped and fell when I was trying to walk Sadie. After I got to work I started to feel really dizzy and like I was going to pass out and puke from the pain. Anyway, after x-rays they said they don't think it's →
In the year 2000
Well 9 years post that is. Some of you might remember that line, some of you will not. To those who know this you may also recall the meaning of the universe, which is in fact the number 42. Really this new year brings new things. I truly want to journal through the entire Bible. This will in fact take a →

Lauren Surgery Update 12.5.08
Lauren is out of surgery and has been moved to the 5300 wing at Duke Medical Center. She came through the surgery fine but they are pretty sure they did not get all the tumor. They had to remove the whole left side of her soft palate as well as her left tonsil as the tumor was →
More on Lauren and a Housing Rant
Subject:: The Family Camera:: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi Aperture:: f4.5 Shutter:: 1/50 ISO:: 200 Focal Length:: 100mm We had a wonderful Tuesday last week. Lauren
Well, she is yet again in the hospital. This time for her flu shot, which she had a major reaction to. We are talking severe, hives, rash, fever, respiratory distress, some pain I think (by the way she acts), heart rate that is between 170-230. She has not been a happy girl. They admitted her yesterday for observation and to →
Lauren Update 11.6.08
I don't even know where to start. As some of you (those in SC) found out, traveling with Lauren out of state is just not going to work so well. We have decided not to travel that far again until such time as her trach is removed, which now looks like March or April. It will be about 3 months after →
